Chau is independent and difficult to mess with. She knows the ins and outs of the market, legal or not, and is quick to drop people, or discussions if she feels they are not necessary.
Chau is fearless. She is able to maintain a constant, cool attitude because she is always carrying weapons (usually a lot
; more than you'd think) that she has mastered, which gives her a constant sense of security.
If seen on the job, she is seen as chatty, lively, and knowledgeable. Realistically though, she doesn't like to talk to people unless it's related to business or important things. Small talk is a no-no. She does, however, enjoy learning and will jump at any opportunity to do so. Especially if it involves technology or weapons. However, providing something that piques her curiosity doesn't mean that one is able to stray from her constant, critical, analytical gaze; she is almost restless, with the way she is constantly on her toes.
She is undeniably loyal to her fellow mafia members, but usually prefers not to socialize unless needed; she isn't exactly the chatty kind of person and would much rather spar or train with someone.
Secretly, she constantly holds the fear of slipping up and failing the mafia and being abandoned by them. She's only human, after all, and she's failed before.
She also likes to collect favors among individuals and often goes out of her way to help them, if possible. Background:Chau had 12 siblings; 7 brothers, and 5 sisters. She was the third youngest of the group, and definitely the strangest. She was a victim of albinism.
Because she was so different, she struggled with many things; fitting into her school, making friends, and even fitting into her family. Everywhere she went, people regarded her Albinism as a stage connected to the ever-growing Chromatism; in other words, a scary defect.
"What kind of Asian has white hair and snow white skin?"
She tried to get people to understand that she was normal. Anyone she befriended ended up being grouped with her, and, too scared to be judged, quickly dropped her as a friend. This prejudice carried on as she grew older and was in high school, and she was unable to land a job because of the ongoing hatred against Chromatism carriers.
Rejection weighing heavily upon her, Chau eventually let it get to her and let it crush her dreams of living a normal life. After she graduated high-school, she took off. In one night, she disappeared from her families' eyes and decided to take a shot at a seemingly simple job, where her strangeness could be used to an advantage-- peddling.
The people in her town quickly became amused with this new role--Chau started off selling small goods, but tourists and locals alike were drawn to her talent of talking to people and attracting attention. More people and more attention meant more customers, and that meant more money.
The sudden income allowed her to deal with better goods and she even took an interest into making concealable, efficient weapons; her specialty was turning instruments into maneuverable objects such as tools, or even transforming them into believable concealing cases for certain shipments (discreetly concealing a weapon into a guitar, for example). They dubbed the creations to be the cooler version of Swiss-army knives. Many people marveled at the creations and wondered how they were made, but the surface knowledge never went beyond Chau's first inventions, which included a violin that could turn into an accordion [harmless things, really; not many found out about the riskier inventions or operations Chau performed, but suspecting citizens exchanged rumors].
It wasn't long before Chau started producing, selling, and shipping weapons; all under the table, of course.
The designs only grew to be more complicated, stealthy, and well-crafted as Chau nurtured her sudden fascination with weapons. As she learned more about weapons and their functions, she grew more protective of her designs and rapidly learned better ways to trade without being detected, as well ways to get the best price for her creations. She did a good job hiding herself, and very little people had an idea of the source these well-crafted inventions. Nonetheless, they continued to sell, and rumors continued to linger; the owner of these brilliant weapons refused to willingly reveal herself unless she could've been provided with secrecy and the security of her weapons, as well as her identity. The BW faction, having encountered the intriguing devices before, eventually began to get curious. Chau was more than pleased when she heard about this, and continued her business in a higher-traffic business district in order to gain more attention; possibly enough to pique their interest enough into getting them to consider recruiting her.
The only thing she had to lose was her weapons, which, she seemed to value more than her life.
With enough hard work, she was, for once in her life, accepted. Chau has cast aside the fact that there is now blood on her hands, content with the fact that she now has a place where she can definitely confirm she a role to play.
Chau's role in the mafia mainly has to do with trading, as she is a very experienced trader and quite discreet about making transitions with the market, legal or not. She's keen on making profit and good deals, and gets a kick out of it. She also doesn't mind doing shipment jobs.
Her role in the mafia intertwines with her normal job, as she is a street peddler and can make shipments in between her normal day job. Her job is both a part of her daily life and life with the mafia.
For the members of the mafia, she also enjoys manufacturing weapons and tools; simply approach her and make a request and she will gladly fulfill it. (note; she'll, without a doubt, remember you for asking.) She also gladly gives lessons and information on weapons.Powers:
TO BE EDITEEEEEEDMain
[black/white] - Weapons transformations; in particular, Chau has studied instruments for a long time and is able to make weapons out of them. They are seemingly normal instruments, but with the flip of a switch they can turn into a deceivingly deadly weapon. Of course, flipping the switch back puts them back into their (unplayable) disguise. She currently carries a violin, but her favorite part about it is the bow, which literally turns into a bow. The reed is replaced with sharp, thin wire and can alternately be used as a sword.
Her forte is strategy and planning around the foe, but is comfortable enough to fight given that she has her violin or bow is with her.
Any other weapons, she will most likely know about, but will not be 100% experienced with. Therefore she is prone to discomfort, self-consciousness, and mistakes if utilizing anything other than her violin.Sub
[yellow/green] - "Placebo" ; A strange, painless healing skill that is activated by Chau winking at the target. After being winked at, the person must recall a memory that is particularly fond for them (such as hugging a friend, or graduating school, or a date), which will activate the ability in their body and start the recovery. It can temporarily let someone ride on happiness, health, and well-being for a short period of time, so that they are able to take cover, retreat, or have enough energy to make a final move.
Chau can only use this skill on one person at a time, meaning if Person B was in need of help, Person A would have to be dropped and returned to their original painful state if Person B were to receive the treatment.
She's slightly embarrassed to use this skill because of the winking factor, but of course, will not hesitate to use it if it is needed.Other information:
• Wears a white glove on her left hand; it's made of special material that prevents her from being cut when she uses her violin bow.
• Her guilty pleasure is pop music, since she lived in a house where that genre was non-existent.
• Very stubborn when it comes to personal space and personal belongings. She absolutely refuses to set her conical hat aside and trade it for a more mafia-esque one and always brings it around.
• She can only use her bow if she's wearing her gloves, which are made of special material that doesn't cut.
• She always wears white because she is very prone to sunburns and other skin damage.
• Still slightly irked that she has both Chromatism and Albinism. Sometimes she thinks she's cursed.
• Her violin case is chained to a heavy pocket watch, located in her left pocket.
