HAZ/BIONIC NPC: Valen

Valen is the beloved younger brother of Charles. They have been separated for three years.
His element is Argon, a non-reactive noble gas; his element enhances his weapons instead of forming them.
He was born prematurely so he has a large handful of health issues, including Raynaud's Phenomenon which, ironically, makes him extremely sensitive to the cold. His powers are also hindered and there is a deficiency of Argon content in his body; however, with specially-designed cigarettes, he can extract Argon from the air and keep his body's chemical and health levels at a norm, enough so to null his sensitivity to the cold.
He takes a great liking to Argon and it's chemical properties, but he despises how it separated him and his brother.

He has a rather short temper, his tone is usually flat, and he often gives off the impression that he hates everyone, but it's actually the complete opposite-- he admires everyone, and is a very appreciative of beautiful things and people. He always keeps these thoughts to himself though, preferring to not let others know too much about him in fear that they'll make fun of him or use the facts against him. He has issues with expressing himself, especially through speech.
He invests a lot of his time in hobbies, such as reading, art, and collecting and studying prehistoric fossils; he is intrigued by the world, enough so that he neglects being around people.
He was a student who worked hard, had good memory, and good grades, so he often got picked on in the past. He quickly learned to defend himself though, whether it were in a verbal or physical manner-- he knew Charles wouldn't always be around to cover for him, which leads to why he always tries to be tough. And if he can't be tough, he'll act tough.
He's actually very affectionate and can be clingy, especially to people he likes or is drawn to. But he is aware of this and dislikes it, which is why he generally avoids people and relationships all together.
He really can't help but be drawn to beautiful things though.
Secretly, he longs to have a best friend like Charles again, whom he can act like a child with and play pranks, poke fun at people, etc.
He will occasionally open up to people, but his range of friends is very limited; he prefers close, meaningful ones over many acquaintances.

In order to activate them, Valen has to take a 'smoke'.
It's not actually a cigarette he use though; it's a specially designed contraption that liquifies air, allowing the Argon content of it to become concentrated and more easy to extract. The Argon trapped in the liquified air is isolated and inhaled by Valen through the 'cigarette'-- the leftover particles are then rid of by being heated/lit by a lighter which Valen keeps in his pocket at all times. You can see the particles being evaporated and it looks a lot like smoke; sometimes Valen blows out bits of Argon for fun so that the smoke is blue.
The smoke allows Valen to intake Argon, which is the chemical he associated with. Since he was born a premature child, his health and ability to maintain the Argon content of his body were, and are hindered. Whenever he wishes to activate his powers he must intake Argon from the air to do so, via 'smoking'. His eyes glow a pale purple-blue as long as his chemical-related powers are active.
As soon as there's enough Argon in his body, Valen can activate his powers which allow unreactivity to anything including temperature and pain in his feet and hands, and arms. He is also able to alter the argon content in the air around him, which he sometimes uses to enhance his weapons.

Valen is very skilled in stealth and only really fights if he knows he can have the advantage of being unnoticed.

^{This sniper rifle has a blue Argon laser attached to it. Argon lights are not visible to the naked eye, but Valen has the ability to see them, so even if his laser is aimed right at his enemy, they cannot see.}

secondary; Twin Knives.
^{Two knives made of platinum metal. When unsheathed, the blades are hot enough to cause third degree burns; which, of course, don't affect Valen as long as he has Argon in his body. He hides these knives on the backside of his belt, resting them perfectly horizontal so they are hidden under his blazer.}

- big fan of dinosaurs, old things, archeology-- he secretly uses his powers to indulge in this habit of his, since he discovered through books that he can find the dates of certain artifacts (such as fossils) using Argon

- he's quite religious but isn't open about it-- and he especially believes in only having one lover through marriage. You could say he's a hopeless romantic.
- he used to have hot pink hair due to a chemical accident that occurred when he was doing an experiment at home. He finally made his own dye that reverted his hair pigments back to normal. Some people at Hazardous know about his initially bright hair, but he likes to pretend that it never happened and ignore their remarks, if he can.
